The Baltimore resident, who plays scratch-off games for fun, was stunned to win the $100,000 top prize in a Maryland Lottery game, Lottery officials state.
“I play just about every day,” the 60-ish Certified Public Accountant explained. “It’s always a lot of fun for me, especially when I win.”
Previously, the lucky lady has won as much as $500 in the past, but nothing prepared her for seeing the top prize on her In The Money instant ticket she purchased from Discount Cigarettes in Ritchie Park.
“I couldn’t believe it.” A friend suggested that she go to the nearest Lottery retailer to confirm her good luck. “I was shaking as I ran the ticket through the scanner," she said. "When the $100,000 appeared, I let out a little scream!”
The winner had to wait a week to come to claim her prize after winning during the busy tax season.
“It was nerve-wracking, having to hold the ticket for so long," stated the winner.
The lucky winner kept the few plans she had in store for her winnings a secret.
